Some news from Deb Mostert...

Aluminium teapot with Bugs was awarded the $2000 Sponsors Choice Award at the 2009 Eutick Memorial Still Life Award (EMSLA) which opened at the Coffs Harbour Regional Art Gallery Friday 30th Oct and runs until 2nd January 2010.

Bug’s on Toy Cars is Deb Mostert's1st solo show in Sydney and opens 1st December 2009 at Iain Dawson Gallery, Paddington.

Deb Mostert has been awarded a Janet Holmes a Court Artist Grant of $500. This will be used to help fund the production of a catalogue for a solo show entitled Untold Stories opening 26th Feb with Lorraine Pilgrim/Nyst Gallery, Southport.

Deb Mostert's portrait of Adrian Franklin (ABC Collectors presenter and author) will appear in his new book entitled “Collecting the 20th Century” UNSW Press 2009. The book launch will be held in Dec at the Sydney Powerhouse Museum.

Simon Roots has been selected as one of 25 finalists in Launch- the Clayton Utz Travelling Scholarship 2008.

The exhibition runs from the 9th - 18th December 2008 at Metro Arts, Brisbane and then 2nd February-31st July 2009 at Clayton Utz.
   
Deb Mostert has been shortlisted from over 500 entries to exhibit her work 'The Wise Builder' in the Redland Art Awards 2008 which opens 28th November and runs until the 25th January 2009 at Redlands Art Gallery, Cleveland.
   
Deb Mostert has been selected as one of 25 finalists in Launch- the Clayton Utz Travelling Scholarship 2008 (round two) with her painting 'Tin Polar Bear on Sand Dune'.

Daniel Clemmett – has just been awarded a Clitheroe Award (Mentorship Program) for 2008-2009.

The Clitheroe Program is designed as a formal partnership to promote the professional and personal growth of three emerging sculptors. As part of the award Daniel receives the sum of $7,500.00. We are sure that great things will come of this.

Deb Mostert - is a finalist in the House of Phillips Fine Art Drawing Prize for 2008 Mosman – Sydney.The official opening is on the 4th May. She is also a finalist for the Pine Rivers Awards, Qld.

Daniel Clemmett will be going to England for a residency position. The residency takes place over two months (June and July) at the Montgomery Sculpture Trusts grounds at Snells Farm in Little Chalfont, about half an hour out of London.

Sculptor Daniel Clemmett – won last night the SWELL AWARD at Currumbin.
He won the  Gold Coast City Council Acquisition -  $20,000.00  the work has been chosen tobe placed after the exhibition on Kirra hill.

Daniel Clemmett has been named along with 35 other sculptors as finalists in this years McClelland Sculpture Survey and Award  2007 – (Melbourne)   18th Nov 2007 to 6th July 2008 -   the award has emerged as the most important biennial  outdoor sculpture exhibitions in Australia.

William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize

Monash Gallery of Art - Melbourne

($10,000.00 award) Judge Bill Henson with her work titled "Reliquary: Portrait 1"

Nationally there were 41 finalists - the prize - promotes excellence in photography.
